Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect
Respawn Social is built to need as little of your real-world information as possible:
- Email address — required to create an account and sign in. Never shown to other users.
- Gamertag — the name other users see. Chosen by you; not your real name.
- Steam ID (optional) — only if you choose to link Steam for verification. Never shown to other users; used solely to grant your Verified badge and, if you allow it, to suggest games you've recently played.
- Whatever you choose to post — profile info, bio, posts, wall comments, messages, and any images you upload (avatar, banner, background).
We do not collect your real name, home address, or phone number. We do not require or perform age verification (see our Terms of Service).
2. How We Use It
Your data is used to run the Service: authenticating you, displaying your profile and content to other users as you configure it, matching you into lobbies and squads, and enforcing our Terms of Service through the reporting and moderation system. We do not sell your data, and we do not currently run advertising or third-party tracking on the Service.
3. Who Can See What
Your gamertag, avatar, bio, posts, wall, Top Squad, and games are public to other logged-in users by design — that's the point of a profile. Your email address and Steam ID are never displayed to anyone, including other users; they're used only for account functions described above.
4. Blocking & Reporting
Blocking another user on Respawn Social is silent — the blocked user is never notified. When you file a report, the content of that report (and your account) is visible only to Respawn Social's administrators for review, never to the person you reported.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us (see Section 8). Note this product is currently in beta — see our Terms of Service for what that means for data reliability during this period.
6. Cookies & Local Storage
We use browser storage only to keep you signed in (your session token) — not for advertising or cross-site tracking.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the update.
8. Contact
Placeholder — needs a real contact (email or form) for privacy/data-deletion requests, same as the Terms of Service. Everything else above reflects the actual product.
